Sunny Day On The Farm

It was so nice outside today and the winds have finally settled down some. Yesterday Oklahoma was ablaze with fires. Many folks lost there homes, barns, and outbuildings. The firefighters worked endlessly trying to gain control. We were very fortunate not to have any near our place.

This coming week they say temperatures are to reach near 90 and with winds coming again they are asking folks with tall grass to get it mowed down as a precaution. Everything is so dry it only takes a small spark and before you know it so much damage.

We are sure praying for rain! Well this afternoon after running a few errands I gathered up some of my thrift store finds and my paints and brushes and spent a few hours outside giving them a coat of paint.

They do look so much better painted. I just need to add a lil' wax to them and then they will be finished and ready to put in our booth.

I tried my hand at making a stuffed bunny and a few muslin eggs. The poor lil' bunny has a square nose guess I'll have to try to do a little better on the next ones!

Tomorrow after church I'm planning on more time spent on the porch painting a few signs and benches. It's suppose to be another sunny day just hope the wind isn't blowing too hard.

Hope each of you are enjoying your weekend and enjoying a little bit of sunshine!

Partners And A Fair Deal

Howdy.....The lawman and me had a busy day. We played lots, did just a little laundry, cooked a couple of meals, brownies, and cookies, did the dishes. Watched a little Scooby Doo and then we got busy.

Danny and I hit a few thrift stores on Saturday and found some treasures. We found a wood table and 4 chairs for $30 and then another dining room table for only $15. I plan to give them a make~over once it warms up. For now I worked on a few of the smaller items with my lil' buckaroo!

Once I got started painting it was hard to stop so we started on making a few signs.

He does pretty good at helping me prim up some wood signs. He insisted on payment of 2 popsicles. I think that's a fair deal!

I won't live long enough to....

Make all the projects in all these books. I'm cleaning out a major portion of my quilting and painting books along with a few repeats of rug hooking books.

I want to sell them all...but not sure just yet where to list them all. I'm guessing there are a few hundred.

I just hope the camera battery and computer holds out!
If your in NEED of some quilting books you might stop back soon.

*~Primitive Punch Needle Booklet Finished~*

It sure feels like Fall today with the cooler temperatures. Quite a nice change from the soaring temperatures we've been having. Welcome rains have been falling all day. It sure saves on watering the garden!

I finally put the finishing touches on the booklet Jenn and I designed. I thought I would share a picture of the needle punch that Jenn made that started it all! The little cat still needs an eye stitched on and a backing added to the needle punch. She did a terrific job and this piece is a whopper for a needle punch. I believe it is about 10" square. Inside the booklet you will find 4 Pumpkin head sisters, dancing jack's, stacks of jack o~lanterns, friendly witches, cats and moons, and perhaps even a pumpkin fairy! You can reduce or enlarge them to suit your craftin needs. Enjoy them for rug hooking, needle punch, wool applique, or painting!

If your interested in our booklet you can find them on eBay under the username....nyafarmgirl

I had so much fun drawing up these prim line drawings...it's got me to thinking about Christmas but I'll save that for another day! Well off to do a little punchin'....
