Remember When?

Oh I remember when Mom would let us girls run through the sprinkler on a hot summer day. The coolness of the water as the sunshine felt so good once you were good and soaked.

I took some of my nieces and Sloan to a park in Norman, OK that has a great little place to have some summertime fun. It's free and it's a great way to beat the heat!

We had a good time enjoying pizza and some fun in the sun. Think we will have to go back again soon. Maybe I should get my sisters to go and we can have some fun under those buckets and sprinklers!

It's Monday!
Look Who Came For A Visit...

Monday's are always happy days here on the farm cause one special lil' boy in my life comes to visit. Yes, I'm a proud Grandma or better yet as this cutie pie calls me...MoMo.

Well while Sloan was down for a nap got this ol' cowboy finished up and listed on eBay. He's a happy Pumpkin~headed cowboy. I'll be finishing up a few more items later tonight for my LPS shop so better go find something to fix for supper and check on my lil' sleepy head.

Hope your enjoying a wonderful start to your week.

Happy Sunday Evening!

Guess I've been thinking ahead to autumn days....falling crisp golden red leaves, pumpkins on the vine, marshmellows over a campfire, cool crisp days...

I dusted off the punchneedle and started a new lil' project. Can you guess what it's gonna be?

The An American Primitive Gathering Group has been doing a star retreat this weekend and I finished up this quick hand~hooked chair pad. I think it will be great with Independence Day being here in just a few days!

Check back soon I will be updating my Lemon Poppy Seed Shop this week and plan to list something on eBay.

What to Do On a Hot Summer Day!

With the temperatures soaring into triple digits it's nice to sit inside and do a little rug hooking. Of course the washing machine always seems to be getting a workout. Yesterday while at work I managed to work in some rug hooking, too.

This guy was a fun project to hook and he is a wonderful design by Among Friends. I just need to add some buttons to his overalls and do the binding and he will be ready for autumn days.

What to do with all those extra woolley scraps....a simple little mat with stars and sheep. Scrappy rugs are always one of my favorites reminds me of just making do with what you have.

Well I'm off to work on a few more projects.

Primitive Hand Hooked Rug
Mr. Pennyworth

Even though it's been so hot here I've been finishing up a few rugs. Just got this fella done. He's a pattern I designed last year as a needle punch and he was fun to do as a hooked rug.

The heat looks as though it is here to stay and the only good thing about it is that you can hang clothes out on the line and they are dry in no time.

For those doing the primitive sampler I hope to have some more free doodles ready in a day or so.

Texas Rug Fest

What a fun little road trip with friends. I enjoyed going to Grapevine, Texas to the "Rug Fest". Grapevine is a wonderful place to visit if you ever get the chance. We visited the historical district and enjoyed some mexican food.

Over at the rug fest there were several gals from Oklahoma who made the trip.

This rug was done by a lady that will be 103 years old this fall. It's called Little Boy Blue. It was stunning and done in a 3 or 4 cut. I don't know the names of all the ladies that hooked each and every rug so I'll just share the photo's. Hope you enjoy!

We left early in the afternoon to make the trip home and yes we all found a few treasures to bring home with us. Thanks to Sandra and Pati for making the trip with me. It's always fun to go on road trips with these gals.

Father's Day Weekend!

Reunion, Baby Shower, and Father's Day Supper all in one day but it can be done.
Today we gathered at my Great~Uncle and Aunt's house for a family reunion on my Mom's side. It's always a good time seeing each other and of course the food is always a treat.
Mom's brother made it in from California and she was very happy to get to visit with him.

Some of the family enjoying lots of wonderful dishes that everyone brought.

Dad ready for a little lunch.

I didn't stay long at the reunion we had a baby shower for my niece I needed to attend. So Jenn and I left early and enjoyed some time visiting with Danny's side of the family.

Danny's mom and our daughter Jenn.

If that wasn't enough to fill the day how about coming over to my house for supper. Jenn's in-laws enjoying the evening out on the porch.

A sandbox keeps the girls busy making castles.

Isn't my nephew a handsome guy!

Danny and my bil Steven enjoying talking about farming.

It was a day filled from start to finish but we enjoyed every minute of it. Hope you enjoy your weekend as well.
