Strawberry Needlecases and Celebrations!

I've been punching again and these strawberries are making some SWEET needlecases!
If you would like to see how I put them together stop by our Prairie Moon Primitives Blog and see how they are simple and quick to make.

Lots of celebrations going on this past weekend!

Eva Mae turned 1 and has decide walking is much better than being held.  She is one busy lil' gal.
Danny's dad turned 80 this weekend and we had a wonderful family gathering with a cookout and lots of visiting!

The weather here has been a bit crazy.  I'm not complaining by any means.  Today we enjoyed 80 degrees and tomorrow will be much the same.  By Thursday they are forcasting snow in the northwest part of Oklahoma and dropping temps here in the heart of Oklahoma.  Like they say if you don't like the weather just wait it will change :)

Woolly Welcome and A Milestone!

I just love how this punched "Welcome" turned out.  Wool threads got to love them.  We will be offering hand dyed wool threads for needle punch coming soon!

Mmmmm....strawberries!!!  More punches :)

Now it is so hard to believe but this little bundle of joy is turning 1 today!
My heart is swelled beyond measure for  this sweet lil' gal!

She has been such a good natured baby....lots of smiles and so full of happiness!

Sloan's very first day to meet his new cousin!  He tells everyone that he sees that Eva Mae is his little sister.  She calls him Bubba so I'm betting they will grow up  being  as close as a brother and sister!

We are planning to take a trip to the zoo today and a birthday celebration on Saturday!
MoMo does love her grandkiddo's :)

Punching Along...

This last weekend we spent a few hours in the truck going to Possum Kingdom a big lake located near Graham, Texas.  Along the way and I like to keep my hands busy so on the ride home I worked on punching some needle cases.

I spent some time on the porch of the cabin punching, too.  It is a very nice relaxing lake just wish the rains would fall in Texas and fill it back up.

This is a view from the cabin we stayed in.

We had a great time visiting with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.  This is my Dad's side of the family.  He had two other brothers but they have already passed away.

Still looking good after all these years!

I hope each of you will take some time out of your busy days and visit or call someone you love!

Penny Rugs Stitched By Mom

My dear Mom has been stitching penny rugs up each evening.  I think she has found her niche!

Old primitive looking stitches for this one.

She has a good sense of colors!

A little black cat for this one :)

Awww old browns one of my favorites!  Each one is made from 100% wool.

I listed some over at our etsy shop if you want to take a look.

On a sad note our heart goes out to all those in Boston.  Our heart and prayers are with all those involved.  Such a tragedy.

Pumpkins In April

The green grass and weeds have been popping up across our  fields as spring rains have made their way to Oklahoma.  We are pretty much out of the drought that has been with us for the last 2 years. The ponds are reddish from the Oklahoma red dirt...It won't take long to clear up!
The pumpkins laying in the grass that was just mowed a few days ago turned out just as I had hoped!

Well it's April and for me that means cleaning out a few things so off to work I go before the kiddo's arrive this afternoon!  Wishing each of you a wonderful spring day :)

A Bit of Autumn In April

It's a joyous rainy day here on the farm...We always welcome the rains and even the cool temperatures are nice for I know the hot days are summer will soon be here.
A little bit of Autumn is on my hooking frame today.
Glorious oranges are being hooked into a pumpkin rug.

Doesn't this guy look happy with his silly ol' grin!
Makes me grin just looking at him thinking of what I purchased a couple of days ago.
I'll have to share a picture soon.  I need to practice first :)

For the eyes on this fella I coiled my wool and sewed it down.  If you have never tried it here is a quick tutorial on our blog I have with Pati if you want to pop over to Prairie Moon Primitives and take a peek.

Well back to pulling loops!

Inspired to be a CopyCat!

Sometimes I just can't help it something just grabs my attention and my mind starts racing.  Karen Kahle had a wonderful bag that she crocheted last week and I wanted to see what the wool yarn that I hand~dyed would look like crocheted.  So off to find just the right crochet hook and pop over to Lucy's  blog  Attic24 where Karen had found a wonderful pattern for the tote she made.

Sometimes I like a pop of color and boy did I acheive it with this bag and is it ever sturdy.  I used 4 ply wool yarn and it hooked up really fast in just one evening.

So yes I was inspired to be a copycat.....Thanks to Lucy and Karen!

Sunday afternoon we stopped by JoAnn's and I found this prim color of cotton yarn and I think with a bit of black mixed in here and there I just might crochet up something else.  It isn't quite as bright as the picture shows.  The color is buttercream even sounds delish!

So be inspired to be a copycat  in a good sort of way and get those hands busy creating!

Little Rocking Chairs

Little rockers belonging to my kiddo's hard to believe Dan will be 30 this year and Jenn will be 29!  Just 14 months apart and they sat in their little rockers when they were little and watched movies.

I'm still making chair pads....haven't picked out any just yet for these little rockers.

Jenny's rocker will be for Eva and I'm thinking she might like a cat or dog.  She does love animals already.

This was Dan's little rocker and it will be for Sloan he would probably like a dog or maybe a ninja turtle :)

So back to hooking!

Needle Punch Finishes and Wool Cake Giveaway

Finished up some little needle punches and made them into scissor fobs.  Stuffed the little punches with snippets of wool so you can use them as tiny pinkeeps, too.

Put this little saltbox house scene on a rusty trowel.  Sits up quite nicely on it's own.

This is the backside...think I might add a little hang tag on the back!

Now for a fun giveaway....Pati Jane and I are giving away some of our hand~dyed yarn cakes...so if you want your name thrown in the basket just pop over to our shared blog....Prairie Moon Primitives to enter!

She Kicked Up Her Heels.....

And away she went....A new pattern I will be offering soon!  It was a fun one to hook and went fairly quick.

I did one in needle punch, too.  I'll have to find something to put this one on.  Surely in the piles of treasures I have there will be something just right.

Little Miss Eva Mae enjoyed her very first Easter.  With the help of her Moma she found quite a few eggs.

The trees are in full bloom at my sister Jane's house....it was a wonderful Easter day filled with sunshine, laughter, and family!  Hope your day was just as blessed.

We put a quick little tutorial on some prim tags on our Prairie Moon Blog if you would like to stop over for a quick look.
