Goodbye City Life.....

Farm Livin' is the life for me....yes I like my land spreadin' out so far and wide!

Well what a trip we had. We spent an entire week in New York City and did we ever see some sights. It's going to take several post to show you some of what we saw....so here goes!

From the our quiet country home you rarely hear a siren but in NYC...it happens every few minutes. Police were every where and I'm not talking 2 or 3 lets just say there were many on each block...walking, riding horses, in cars, on bicycles, motorcycles and the list goes on.

We did a lot of looking up....with all the lights and so much going on you wanted to take it all in.

A portion of Times Square...notice the sign not to remove seating for a souvenier...now where are you gonna stuff a seat especially with all those officers everywhere????

Had to go in the big Toys R Us....just look at that big ferris wheel right as you come in the door.

Someone was wearing a sign on their back advertising a dating service of course Jenn had to have a lil' fun with that.

Next we were off to a party! Lots of stars were there...did you guess where at?

Madame Tussauds....lots of silly fun.

That's me I'm a spice girl :)

Danny and Marilyn

Ohhh wonder what they are thinking!

Your fired!

Well enough said on that.

Let's head on over to the M & M Store....

I totally agree!

Just some of the many cylinders of M & M's to choose from.

I got Sloan his favorite color...yes orange it is!

Went to a street fair....with blocks and blocks and blocks of vendors.

Found some tasty treats.

Then the very last booth....Look a MoMo Hat.

Yes I had to have one.

Well that's enough for now and yet it just scratches the surface of what all we did. I'm anxious to stop by your blogs and catch up with all of you. We have a baby shower and a Fall Church Dinner coming up out here at the farm so the next 2 weeks are sure to be full days in cleaning and cooking.

Hope you enjoyed just a lil' bit of the big apple through the eyes of some country folks.

It's Good To Be Home!

We made it home late Saturday night and I must say home never looked so good even with a mountain of laundry to do. We had a good time seeing some of the sights. Danny celebrated his birthday while we were gone.

We found a great farmer's market with lots of fruits, vegetables, handmade soaps, and lots of varieties of food being prepared as you wait.

We even saw Sponge Bob.

Universal studios was an interesting place to visit.

It was quite a change for us taking public transportation. When you live in the country your use to having your own car. I must say this is the first time I have actually taken a bus that is with the exception of a schoolbus.

We made it to San Francisco after a very turbulent airplane ride through a storm. While there we saw the Golden Gate Bridge.

Jenn and JJ on our way to Alcatraz.

Pier 39 famous for it's sea lions!

I just had to add this .....Guess if you don't want one giant rat tail you better brush your hair everyday! Boy it's good to be home!!!!

It May Be Hollywood

But as far as I'm concerned there is no place like home...Yes I'm missing my country living already. Give me land lots of land under starry skies above!

Oh we are having a good time out here in sunny California....

Jenn and JJ as they wait on their first subway ride.

The ceiling tiles in the subway were made to look like movie reels....

Hello Kitty meets Jenny!

We are off on a double decker bus for lots of sightseeing...yes we are as the locals call us Looky Lou's!!!

What do you know we made it Pa!

Even Kermit has a star!

Santa Monica beach area and pier was a fun place to visit.

Bubba Gump's for some good eats!

I saw Spider Man today....
Well tomorrow is sure to be filled with lots more sightseeing so better get rested up so I can keep up with the young ones.

Leaving for the West Coast!

Well the old folks (Danny and I) along with our daughter and her hubby are taking a vacation to good ol' California! Of course Danny and I will pretty much look like the Beverly Hillbillies out in LA and San Francisco! Once a year we shut down the shop for a week and all of the employees take off. Some of the guys stay home and do honey do's and some enjoy the extra time with the kiddo's or their spouses.

So Saturday morning we will be off for a week of seeing Hollywood lights and enjoying some west coast cruisine.

I'll be missing all of my family even before we get out of the driveway! I'm sure Sloan will have grown a few inches and learned more words before the week is up!

I'll have one more post tomorrow as someone VERY SPECIAL will be celebrating a birthday. I might even be able to post a day or two while were gone.

Oh goodness with that all said I'm all ready missing them all already!

~*Who is Mother Goose*~

Our last day in Boston...we strolled through a few old cemeteries. Now there is some question as to if this is the true "Mother Goose", I googled it and it's quite interesting. Seems this grandmother liked to annoy the neighbors with rhymes and songs while telling them loudly to her grandchildren.

These graves were dated in the 1600's and the angels were quite interesting. Some were quite eerie while others were more angelic.

We took a short cruise through the Boston harbor and it turned out to be quite a chilly day.

These young men are from Yale and entertained everyone with some of their musical talents.

Tomorrow we leave for home and I am truly ready. I miss the country life and as I've said before "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME."
