Rainy Day and Grandma's Garden

We have been enjoying a few rainy days and tomorrow has promises of more. No complaining here the ponds are filling up and the pastures are even holding water. Everything is green and the trees are putting on lots of blooms. Spring is here!

While the rains come down in the evenings I've been finishing the binding on the Give Ye Thanks and have it almost completed. To rest my fingers I have been pulling loops on "Grandma's Garden" a 2012 project by LJ Fibers. It's a two part series and I have finished the first part and will continue with the 2nd part when it arrives in October.
It was a very fast one to hook. I love the colors in this project. Laurie does a fabulous job dyeing the wools.

Sloan has been playing on the porch riding his bicycle and playing with a puppy someone dropped off and we found it hiding in a big pile of wood in the pasture. He has named him "Biscuit"....I will have to take a picture of the two as they have become great friends. Along with daily checks on the cat that has 6 kittens that has made her little family's home in Danny's tractor we have been dodging rain drops back and forth to the barn. Well I guess you could say never a dull moment around this little farm.

Time to clean up the wool dust and hit the hay! Tomorrow a little boy returns for more fun and I'll try my best to finish the binding on the Give Ye Thanks....then back to hooking on the Big Farm Scene rug....after that it will be time for something small :)

Happy Trails....Ginger

Sounds like a beautiful life! Kittens and puppies, oh my! Maybe Sloan will study to be a veterinarian? Good to see some rain come your way as last year was drought. Grandma's garden rug looks sweet! :-)

We need some of those rainy days here but aren't getting them. I like seeing your rug projects. So often, I can picture them in applique (since I don't do any hooking).

That is a beautiful rug and wonderful colors.
We had a kitten left in our yard once, it is a miracle it survived the night, some people do not think.

I am so glad your ponds are full and you have had storms this year. I think it is so nice Sloane has a puppy to play with. Not to mention kittens.
Spring is so nice. I really do love your Give Thanks rug and the one you are working on now is really pretty too. I always enjoy looking at your handiwork. Have a lovely day!

Another gorgeous piece Ginger - you're right - the colors are amazing. So rich and earthy. I had read your most recent post first and thought "hmmmmm, I don't recall you getting a new puppy" - well, this explains it. Wow - lucky for Sloan to have a new friend - and lucky puppy as well. They make an adorable pair. :o) Robin

It has been our experience that the pets God led to our door, have been great additions to our family. Biscuit is blessed to have found a welcoming home and a boy to play with too.

Kittens, oh joy! If we lived closer, I'd be climbing into my car, to come see you and them. Well, if we lived closer, you'd be shooing me off sometime or other most days.... ♥

Girls, if you haven't seen Ginger hook with your own eyes, you might believe she has a batch of elves. But her hands fly! The grandma's garden is beautiful... Laurie's wool is luscious and luminous!

How long till that granddaughter arrives? Jonut
