A Dog & Cat and Two Sweet Cousins!

It's been quite some time since I've listed anything on eBay. Seems like there is just not enough time in the day especially with summer days here. I did manage to spare a bit of time and get a couple of things listed on eBay once again. The primitive dog and cat can be used as pinkeeps, bowl fillers, or look great just tucked on a shelf.

Yesterday afternoon I went down to the local restaraunt "only one in town" and my little niece was there having lunch with my sister and brother-in-law along with a few more members of the family and asked her if she would like to go home with me for the afternoon. She gladly accepted!

We had a lot of fun as we went on into the next town to Wal-Mart and got a few things...cowboy hats just happened to be something that went in the shopping cart.

Megan was such a big help. She was helping Sloan to learn manners. He repeats everything so please, thank~you, and excuse me came easy.

Here's hoping our dog Daisy will learn some manners, too!

Yippee Ti Yi Ya
I Wanna Be A Cowboy!

Up by the first light of the morning...and off to Papa Bob and Grandma Sue's house for loading up calves to go to the market. This little one has had a busy morning before lots of folks have crawled out of bed.

Papa Bob is ready to start the calves down the shoot and Sloan has to watch from outside the fence until he's a little bigger.

My nephew John is over helping today with the cattle and then he will be busy on the tractor raking hay the rest of the day. I'm sure his Papa will appreciate the help.

Got to watch out for one calf she's just a bit on the wild side....yes the ol' cowboy can still scramble up the fence.

Finally the last ones make their way to the trailer.

Sloan is practicing his skills herding Papa and Grandma's puppies.

Lil' Dan and my Mom just before Dan goes to work and Mom has a full day planned canning vegetables from the garden.

Sloan and I headed home and he found a present waiting on him from Betty and Trinity and he was so excited. They gave him a truck and a book about tractors, trucks, diggers and dumpers.

Of course we had to go outside for a little T-Ball practice.

Play awhile in the sandbox that his Dad and Uncle JJ made for him.

Take time to water the flowers.

Give the birds and Daisy a drink.

Oh and what better fun than to chase his "MoMo with the waterhose.

Well it's just about lunch time....wander what's in store for this afternoon.

Hope you'll take some time today and enjoy the simple things of life!

A Treasure and More From The Eureka Hook-In

I received this wonderful cross~stitch sampler from Betty of Primitivebetty's. Isn't absolutely beautiful and you should see the tiny detail. Her handwork just absolutely amazes me. If you own any of her pieces you know exactly what I'm talking about. Thank you so much Betty for making this special treasure just for me!

Thought I would share a few more rugs from the hook-in. Lots of great inspiration for all you rug hookers. It was fun to see the many different rugs and the way the finishes were done.

Monday was filled with catching up on laundry and yard work. I'm hoping to find some time to catch up on what all of you have been up too!

Eureka Springs Hook-In

What a wonderful weekend Danny and I had visiting Eureka Springs this weekend. We enjoyed seeing the Passion Play on Friday night and then Saturday morning we went to the hook-in hosted by Vicki of Hogscald Holler. If you didn't get a chance to attend try to come next year you will have a wonderful time.

Here is just a sampling of a few of the rugs on display I'll try to share more tomorrow.

Me and Vicki just before I left for the day. Thanks so much Vicki for hosting such a wonderful show and hook-in.

Betty of Primitivebetty's and her sil Robin attended the show as well and had invited Danny and I back to where they were staying for supper. We enjoyed meeting their families and had such a great time! Betty gave me one of her cross~stitch samplers and it is absolutely beautiful. I'll have to share a picture as soon as I find just the right place for it. I'm such a lucky gal!

Will Work For Food!

Aren't they cute...it's the clean up crew and we are going to have more coming to stay real soon. Danny bought 5 little nannies and 2 Jenny's. We haven't had donkeys before but one will be to stay with some of our cows and calves and one will be with the goats.

Soon as they were unloaded they put their heads down and went to work eating away at the brush. That's what I call willing to work for food!

We are going to have to get several more to get the job done and they sure are fun to watch especially when they start having little ones.

Yours, Mine, and Sweet 16

We had a very productive weekend celebrating my nephew John's 16th birthday. He turns 16 on the 9th of June and I'm sure he is looking forward to the freedom of driving a car.

Pizza deliveries are uncommon way out in the country but Dennis my brother-in-law was more than happy to bring us some much needed refreshments!

All the younger kids enjoyed snacking and watching a movie.

Dad can usually be found setting out on the porch when he's not fishing.

We spent most of the day working on a couple of projects at Mom and Dad's house. We built them some new back steps and made a flower garden out front. My sis "Jane" was trying to be the boss.

Bobbie was soon worn out from all the hard work. I have to admit she probably worked harder than anyone then again she's the youngest of us girls!

Sherry enjoying a break!

After we finished our work day at my folks house we went for supper over at Danny's folks. Glad we all live so close.

It was one of those rare times when all of Danny's brothers and sisters were all over. We enjoyed a great meal of spaghetti and garlic toast.

The original "Jackson" gang!
