Spring Time On The Farm

Spring Time is coming down on the farm!  The trees are producing tiny little buds and little sprigs of grass are poking through looking for sunshine.

Love is in the air as the birds are once again looking for little tidbits to make a new little place to feather a nest.  Lots of new little baby calves are playing in the fields as their momma's keep an ever watchful eye.

Spring days with scattered rainfalls are so sweet smelling and bring back memories of childhood as it falls across the prairie. The ponds turn a deep rusty red as the Oklahoma red dirt stirs up the water.

Soon it will be time to help with the planting of a big garden that mom and dad have planned.  Seeds have been started and are keeping warm inside a little greenhouse built by dad.  Sweet onions, lots of varieties of tomatoes, squash, green beans, peas, watermelon, corn, and cantaloupe to name a few!

Yes, Spring Time is coming down on the farm.

I've been playing with the needle punch and valdani threads this one was worked up with soft spring colors in the perle #5's.

A small booklet of the seasons on the farm is in the works....

With spring coming really soon....the yard is already asking for a trim!  It will be a busy time for
us this Spring but I don't mind :)

In A Pear Tree

We are starting to warm up and boy does the sunshine ever feel good!  We were very fortunate to get some rains and that always helps the pasture grass and the ponds.

While the days are getting longer and a bit warmer....I've been punching things for Christmas!
New little patterns for later on in the year.  I have to get a head start for the days I will spending at Silver Dollar City.
In a Pear Tree was punched with #8 Valdani threads and I really like how the color flows.

I also, started a hooked rug....this one won't be a pattern will be a finished rug for sale later on in the year.

Spring Break for Oklahoma is this week and there are a lot of excited kiddo's ready to enjoy a break from school.

Our littlest grand Miss Betty Rae celebrated her 1st birthday!
The year flew by so fast.....
This little gal loved having cake :)

Could It Be

I am way ahead for Christmas!  Been working on a new pattern for a wool applique stocking for this coming fall and put this one together.
It is nice and big enough to put plenty of goodies in.

Dear Ol' Santa has a brand new suit!

Love how the manger scene turned out....simple but full of meaning!

A little Gingie girl with a pocket that stays open to hold a tiny surprise.

The sunshine has finally peeked out and the baby calves are all over the farmyard.

As Eva Mae says......Awe Aren't They Sweet!

Down On The Farm

Oh sunny days we are so ready for you!  It's been a cold time here on the Oklahoma Prairie's.    So it's always nice to pull out the scrap wool of yarns and wool strips and create a plain and simple rug.  It is very similar to the rug I hook a few weeks back but I wanted to use my oxford punch for this one.

I used scraps of  wool 4 ply yarn that I hand dyed  and wool strips that I pulled from my scrap basket.

Danny has been wearing overalls since we dated way back when we were 16 years young!

He was the only guy for me....my first date!
Not my first kiss....oops stole one in 2nd grade from a lil' red headed boy!

We had a fun little wool class "Crazy Clutch " it is a pattern my Cricket Street Wool.
Such fun to make :)

Each gal did a little something different on the inside of the clutch.

We had such a good time visiting and stitching.  Thanks to all the ladies who made it out on a cold day.

This lil' boy has been out of school for snow days.  We are mainly a rural school so the buses have a tough time so it is better to play it safe when the roads get snow and ice.
He was sacked out while I was busy at work.....

The lil' girls came over for a visit one afternoon.  Look at Miss Betty standing so tall.  She will be celebrating her first birthday next week!  Eva is such a good big sister and is always ready to tell Sissy about how things should be!

I've been working on some new patterns and hope to share some with you soon.  It's going to be a busy spring and summer and I can hardly wait!

Wishing everyone lots of SUNSHINE and a Happy WEEKEND!
