Rug Hooking at Saltbox Primitive Woolens
You Need To See This Shop!
This morning Pati Jane, Sandra and I packed up the car and we were on our way from Oklahoma to the Rock Creek Hook~In located in Lenexa, Kansas....so on the way we drove up to Warsaw, Missouri to visit a wonderful little shop "Saltbox Primitive Woolens"
As we were riding up Sandra is busily hooking on a rug...yes you can rug hook in a moving vehicle if your not the one driving!
Okay...now to share pictures of a absolutely wonderful shop. We were greeted at the door and offered something to drink and a place to set our purses.
This is Patty Wallace the owner of Saltbox Primitive Woolens. They offer wool, patterns, supplies, classes, and just so much inspiration right inside the door!
Here is just a sampling of what waits inside...
I also had the honor of meeting a fellow blogger...Kati and she surprised me about knowing about my blog. It's always fun to meet fellow bloggers in person. She has hooked many of the rugs in the Saltbox Primitive Woolens Store.
Now if you ever get to Warsaw, Missouri be sure to stop in this wonderful little store you'll be glad you did.
Oh tomorrow will bring even more treasures as we will be visiting with Betty and her sil "Robin, and a friend we have yet to meet in person JoJo at the hook-in at Rock Creek so check back and I'll be sharing lots of pictures!

*Special Delivery and My Work Partner*
It's always a good day when something special comes in the mail. The group USAPRIM that I belong to on ebay recently did a Secret Friend Swap and Bren sent me these wonderful treasures. I just love each and everything she sent! Thanks so much Bren!!!
Today I have been at work all day and I've had quite the little helper...I have accomplished getting everything ready for our accountant to do the final prep on our taxes! I'm always glad when that task gets taken care of.
He's lost his shoes somewhere in the fun...but he's found a pair of pliers and some safety glasses to work on his PaPa's chair.
After a filling lunch he's in need of some rest before going back to work...
Well, I've got my bags packed for an early start on what looks to be a wonderful weekend. Two good friends and I are heading out for a Rug Hooking event that is being held in Lenexa, Kansas on Saturday. We are leaving early tomorrow to take in a few quilt and rug hooking shops along the way! I hope to have lots of pictures to share.

Basketball, Needle Punch, and ???
Our niece "Megan" shined this weekend at her basketball game as her team won. No matter if they win or lose they always have a good time. She is a really good dribbler she brings the ball down the court and does a lot of passing to her teammates.
Congratulations Megan!
This weekend we had another online retreat with the group AAPG and I was able to finish a couple of projects...The one with the ducks was inspired by an antique hooked rug.
This one is a pattern by Buttermilk Basin. I enlarged it just a little and made it into a cupboard hanger.
I'll be offering both on ebay in a few days.
I snapped this quick picture at Wal-Mart in a nearby city....You just never know what you'll see at Wal-Mart!

As Close As It's Going To Get...
I've always wanted a log cabin but I'm sure this is as close as it's going to get for me. But I sure love the look and rustic feel you get of log homes.
Monday mornings brings a special lil' guy to start my week off with lots of smiles, hugs, and a few kisses. He likes to empty his toy box that I keep in the living room and sit in it and watch movies...notice the dino's under the loveseat no telling what lurkes under there!
Yesterday morning we woke up to howling winds and snow but by the afternoon it was already melting. They say more is on the way but today we are enjoying sunshine...Hooray!
This little quilt was made by me years ago. I'm thinking it's a bit bright for my taste but I do like the design. I can't remember who the pattern was by. Well it's time to play with dinosaurs and race cars...hope your enjoying the start to a new week.

*A WHITE BLANKET*
Oh what a delight not to have ice for a change but a white blanket of snow is covering most everything. The roads are still in good condition as the snow continues to fall. I love watching the snow fall just wish the flakes were bigger. I know everyone else is dreaming of spring but I like the snow. Living in Oklahoma all of my life there has been many winters without a single snowflake where I live. I like how it changes everything to make it seem so much more peaceful.
As you can see I've been addicted to rughooking lately. I wanted to try my hand at a few signs and think that I like the look and I even got out of my comfort zone and tried different background colors. Today I'm working on a hand applique wool block every once in a while I just want to sit and work with a needle and thread!
Well back to stitching hope your finding a little time in your busy day to do something you love!

HaPPy BiRThDay
Over the weekend Mom celebrated her 66th birthday. I forgot to take my camera along but snapped a picture of her outside of church today...doesn't she look young! Mom has always been like the older sister to all of us girls...yes she is momma but she always has joined in on the fun even when we were just little girls. Late night swims in the kiddie pool in the backyard giggling right along with us. Trips to the zoo, camping adventures and boy were they adventures...and talk about loving to scare us when we were least expecting it! We love and admire our Mom for being the person she is and instilling in us the values we hold dear today....Wishing you Many, Many, More Birthdays Mom!
Well the sun peeked out over the weekend and it sure was good to see a bit of sunshine but tonight the raindrops are drumming on the windows once again and will be changing to snowflakes.
Wishing you a bit of sunshine this week as I'm sure we all could use some about now!

If I Had A Wishing Well.....
If I had a wishing well I would throw in a penny or two and wish for some sunny days to dry up all this rain and melting snow. We are past the point of soggy!
Tonight as I drove home I was lost on my own road trying to figure out where to turn since the fog was thick as pea soup. Luckily I could see the light at the house now I just had to figure out where the gate to the drive was!
I hooked up both of this lil' mats tonight...just got to do the binding but that will wait until another day. They are predicting more SNOW where is that sunshine???
Happy Trails....Ginger
