A Place to Dye

I have been working on this awesome pattern
"Pastel Tulips"  by Cath's Penny Rugs.  I have always loved her designs.  I chose a little different color selection but that is the fun of having wools to choose from.  I love having her patterns in my shop.

It's been a busy week of dyeing wool and washing load after load of as-is wools.  The bins are overflowing in the shop and next will be tying up lots of wool rug yarns and mixing up dyes and watching them change from natural creamy yarns to all kinds of colors.  It's like a surprise when they come out of the dye pots!

Look at the wonderful dye room Danny built for me!   Am I one lucky gal or what!

It sure makes the dyeing much quicker and I don't have to worry about messing up the kitchen.

Wishing each of you a wonderful weekend and hope you find time to do something you love!

Happy Trails.....Ginger

Ginger, your wools look like velvet; they are beautiful, as is your stitching. Your dye room is wonderful; i don't remember seeing it before; you are one lucky and talented lady!!!! Blessings, Dee

Ginger, I love your beautiful applique with the wool, and Danny did a great job making your dye room! I have a question......If I buy a wool applique pattern, should I use regular embroidery yarn, or do you use wool crewel thread? Thanks & God Bless, Bev

What a great space to work in, wish I could get my husband to do one for me, lol.
I do have a lot of wool that needs dying, so will wait for warmer weather and work outside, hate using my new stove.

Bev....I use dmc floss and valdani pearl cottons...you can use just about anything you want for applique as long as it goes through your wool.
