A Heartfelt wish for all of you...enjoy the day with family and friends.  Take time to reflect on the true meaning of the love and the grace of our Lord.  Great was the gift he gave for each and everyone of us.

Poppity Pop Pop

I've been making a lot of noise with the punch needle the last two days.  I have a bit more punching to do on this as I don't like to waste any weavers cloth.  I have a trowel picked out for the Saltbox house scene.  Little scissor fobs will do nicely for the flowers.

The warm spring days have turned once again to the cold north winds of winter....I don't mind so much because I know before long the HOT days of summer will be here.

The winds no matter hot or cold dry a newly dyed batch of wool green yarns.  It is a bit of leaf green and avocado just perfect for grass, Christmas trees, and wintery scarfs for snowmen.

I added a little tutorial on our Prairie Moon Primitives Blog  for this simple scrappy chair pad.  Hope you come over for a visit!

Well it's back to working around the farmhouse and a bit more punching!

Little Hooked Chair Pads

I've been making some little hooked chair pads.  Small enough to go in little rocking chairs.  I have my kiddo's rocking chairs from when they were little.  Perfect little places for the grandkiddo's to sit when they come over.
I'm making up a few extra.... They measure 9 inches across before binding.

This spiral was was inspired by Karen at PrimitiveSpirit if you haven't stopped by her blog you are missing out.  She is always busy working on something wonderful.

Just a quick thank you to all that stop by for a  glimpse into what is happening around the farm.  It has been a blessing to have so many stop by!

A Bowl of Worms

Wool worms and a bit of linen that shouldn't be wasted can make ....

a little Christmas stocking!  Never too early to plan for the holidays.

The sun is shining and I've walked the farm driveway and pasture once today.  It's spring break for many and without kiddo's this week I have extra time and don't even know where to start!
Ever have that problem?

A Basket of Sunshine

What to do with a free day??? It's spring break and my lil' sidekick is off visiting his other grandparents and cousins :)
So why not grab some woolly worms and get busy!

A quick sketch onto linen and let's see what will happen!

It's beginning to grow.

With a little bit of sunshine things begin to happen.

A grand sunflower has sprouted.

Spring Is In The Air

Are you bouncing back from the time change yet?  Spring days will soon be here and signs are starting to pop up here and there.  The yard is already in need of a good dose of weed killer!  The creepy crawly bugs are making their way back from a long winters nap :(

The ground along with the trees will be awakening soon and as always we look forward to fields of green dotted with wild prairie flowers.....

Here is a free little doodle of a  Spring bouquet just for you!

MOOving Right Along!

The cows have been busy rubbing on the hay bales...I think they have enjoyed the nice rains we have had, too!
Now moooving right along!

I'm happy to say all these are bound!  Do I have more to finish the binding on well of course :)

This weekend my niece Megan (ponytail with blue and orange) was playing in the finals for the season basketball championship!

Their team came in first place...Congratulations to all the girls :)

Eva Mae came and watched her play she just might be a ball player one day!

Sloan was there to cheer her on, too!

I'm going to go join the gals tomorrow for a day filled with visiting and crafting.  It will be bittersweet as Country Collections will be closing soon.  After 23 years of offering wonderful classes, wool, fabric, patterns, and more they will soon be closing their doors.   Guess I better gather up a few things to work on... wishing each of you a week filled with family, friends, and laughter!

Through the eyes of.....

A Five year old!  He is pretty handy with a camera he has been using mine since he was about 2.  You're  never too young or too old to learn :)

Papa is showing him different tracks.

Look something has a place to live....now are  you ready to see what all he took pictures of?

There were five armadillo's today.

Can you see the geese flying away as we approached the pond?  The windshield on the ranger needs cleaned so they are kind of hard to see.

Looks like a racoon stopped for a drink.

This hole went way back up into the pond dam...something made a home here!

A quick pose on a log and we were off again and within just a few minutes this little 5 year old was sound asleep!

It's hard work going on a wilderness adventure :)

Cherry Thief

If you look close this old crow has stolen a cherry.  We had such a great day at the farm.  There was 14 of us gals enjoying the day stitching up this great penny applique rug that Dee and Carol brought out.  They pre~cut all the pieces for us and we happily stitched all day.
I finished mine up this evening and named it the "Cherry Thief".

Carol and Dee even supplied the lunch...Homemade Tomato Basil Soup and Ham Sandwiches.  Mom brought over homemade Cherry pie, Brownies, and fresh fruit.

We laughed and visited and laughed some more....it doesn't take much to get us tickled!  A big Thank you to Dee and Carol for doing such a wonderful class here at the farm!
