Tornado Season

What a wild day we had yesterday here in Oklahoma. This is what it looked like out my front door. Tornado season has officially started here once again and yesterday all the local tv channels had there hands full trying to keep up with all the developing storms that had the potential for tornados.
It was just a little too close for comfort for my folks as they had one just about a mile from where they live that hit the Mid~America Technology Center and a horse ranch nearby. Then across Interstate 35 from where they live another one took out our nieces barn.
I'm thinking it may be time to get a storm shelter way out here. Not sure that a bathtub with pillows and blankets is going to protect us all that much.

We ae back on a tornado watch for tonight and more watches predicted for tomorrow...guess we will keep an eye on the sky!

Dad came by this afternoon and we went fishing for a little while...looks like he will be having fish for supper!

Sloan had a good time getting dirty and he went back down there to play a little more and listen to a big ol' hoot owl. He sure likes hearing the hoot owl and likes to hoot back at him.

Happy Trails...Ginger

Looks like your internet it back, I hope. Yes, it was a pretty scary day, yesterday, but we all managed to make it thru without too much damage. Looks like the fishing was good and Sloan had a great time playing in the dirt.

I love watching storms as they roll in but tornadoes are rare around here so we don't have to worry about them like you guys.
A storm cellar does sound much better than a bathtub, especially when it's that close.
Stay safe!

Hi Ginger! I followed you over here from Lori's (Homespun Prims) blog. When I saw your Tornado Season post, I knew you were a fellow Okie! I live about 10 miles east of Tulsa. Not sure how far away you are from me. We got some heavy rain and winds last night, but no tornadoes. Sorry to hear about the damage down there, but glad everyone is safe!

I am now a follower of your blog and looking forward to getting to know you! Have a blessed week~

I told you earlier, but again... I am so glad you are all safe & sound! Now, get that storm shelter built!

It is fun seeing how Sloan can get so dirty. Trinity does a good job of that too! :)

Smiles,
Betty

So glad you are safe! I am in Oklahoma too- I was driving home in the storms, God protected me and I am so thankful. I am praying for everyone affected by the storms. Praying for an uneventful weather Wednesday.

So relieved that you and your family are OK. Tornados cause so much destruction in so little time. Hugs ~Sharon

That weather looks terrible. Glad that you are safe and sound. One of my best friends lives in OK and I always check with her to make sure everything is okay. I've only seen a tornado once, and that was enough for me.

Thanks for the sweet comment about my no sew runner.
Sorry about your neices barn...tornado season is not much fun that is for sure, growing up in Ohio we had our fair share.

Hope the rest of your week is better!

I was thinking of you and your family Ginger. We even looked on the map to see where you were and where all the tornados were. Even though we are in Ohio, we get lots of storms. They scare me, especially when my kids were little.
So glad to hear you are alright.

It is shame, such a beautiful time of year, has to be spoiled by tornadoes. Stay safe and enjoy your family.
