Nearing the Finish Line!

After several late nights and lots of work we are getting closer to having one big project done. We have decided we are VERY GOOD at starting projects and terrible at finishing....so we are working on finishing projects!

So I ran the saw and yes it was off in this photo. I took wood shop in High School for 4 years and was even the teacher's aid the last year. I have also helped my dad over the years with working with wood and actually I do enjoy it!

I got the thumbs up from Danny as the boards all came together for the framework. We are enclosing a small room to put our washer and dryer in and part of it will be used to store the tables and chairs we have for our family functions. With the really high ceilings I should even have storage for the Christmas decorations.

We trimmed out all the doors and windows. Still need to paint the doors.

The outside of the small room is almost complete on the outside wall. We still need to add the wood above the door and do the trim work. We are going to add insulation in the walls to help sound proof it....maybe the overalls won't bang so loud!

We still have lots of hummers and they do enjoy the cool, sweet drinks from the feeders.

The spaces for Frank Bielec's class here the last of September are starting to fill up. If your interested in attending please email me and I will send you all the information.

Happy Trails.....Ginger

Wow, I'm so impressed that you framed in the room yourself. Grats to you!! It looks great too. I love the paneling you're using. Your hummer is so cute. My mom had a feeder, but she got a new one, and it leaked. So, instead of taking it back (duh), she just stopped filling it. Silly woman!!

Oh, what a wonderful room!!! How nice you have such a great space for all your big family get-togethers.
Love the pic of Danny in his shorts. I was surprised he wasn't in overall shorts...lol!

Great looking room! Love the wood... it's stained beautifully and just right! Ya' know? I almost didn't recognize Dan without his overalls? lol!

I wish I had building and woodworking skills. There's so much I would like to do. We are enjoying our hummers here in NH too. I just put out a feeder a week ago at the new house and they are thrilled. I'm content to spend the day watching them!!
Happy building!

The room is looking really nice. We have the same problem, lots of started projects, lol. Our basement is finished with the walls and we started a bathroom area, but no bathroom yet. Started laying out floating floors but that cost, so we buy a bundle when we can afford it and then lay it down, will get done someday;)

How awesome they let you take wood shop for all four years. They would not let me. I asked.
It had to be cooking and sewing, I might have liked it better if I could have taken just one year of wood shop and metal shop. :)
I love working with wood. My favorite date is going to Sears and looking at all of the Craftsman tools.
I can't wait to see it all finished.
It looks great.
You are so talented.

WOW! Looking good! Can't wait to see the changes. I love your house. Jen emailed me about the hooking class in September and told me to email you to get info but I don't have an email addy. I read the post below about Frank Bielec and would love to come but I am going to be leaving for Spain on Sept 30 early am so don't think I better sign up for even the first day. Keep me in mind for next time. Vickie
