Keeping Busy and Beating This Heat!

It's been scorching hot and that is no lie. We are in an extreme heat wave. It's just miserable. I did mow the yard last night just to straighten things up a bit and it looked like a big dirt cloud following me.

So what to do with time spent indoors....Sloan is content with playing, watching movies, and having a book read to him. In between and late into the evenings I've been working on oxford punching, rug hooking, embroidery, applique, and painting.

I drew up the chick setting on her nest this afternoon and with my trusty oxford punch she was done in just a couple of hours.

This rug was peeking out from my UFO stack calling to me. It's a pattern by Star Rug Company and it's back on the frame and I'm wanting to finish it up to enjoy this winter....ahh for a winter's day!

I did finish up another hooked rug just need to get it bound. I'm still working on having a giveaway....just need to finish up a thing or two.

Time to head back to the frame and pull a few loops.

Happy Trails....Ginger

Wow! I forget in between visits over here at the blog, how much you get done. Loving it all, but especially the hen! Her nest is just glowing, she must have a great egg in there! :)

I've been praying that you get some rain, without a bad storm mixed into it. Our weather pattern seems to be changing(hope that doesn't jinx it) so keep on believin! Hugs. Jo

You have some more wonderful goodies! :)

Sorry it has been so hot & dry there. We have been hot, but thankfully did get a little bit of rain yesterday. Hopefully you will get some soon to cool things off & take the fire hazards away.

Isn't it funny how we look forward to Summer to get outdoors and then we get stuck indoors because of the heat? Spring and Autumn are definitely my favorite times of the year. I've been inside during the days and venture out for an hour or so in the evenings as it has been swampy humid (and full of hungry mosquitoes)... of course, I haven't created as many lovely finishes as you have!!!! And, in so many different mediums too!

It has been hot here too. In fact I keep my weather and my sister's weather in Oklahoma up on my computer and we had the same temps. I thought that was funny.
I cleaned my flowerbeds in this heat just because I am tired of being in the house. I have been using my Oxford Punch too.
I love your chicken and all of the wonderful things you have made.

Lots of wonderful pieces. I can't stand anything heavy or hot on my lap these days, so doing small stitcheries, maybe I could do some punches, with a frame it is not so bad.
