My Primitive Sampler
*~D is for Dog~*

The little redwork sampler is coming right along. I found that if I iron a piece of freezer paper to the back of the little block before I trace on my pattern I can still see through it well enough with a lightbox to draw on my pattern and it makes the tracing so much easier. Then just peel off the paper and save it for the next block.

Here's a little tune my sis "Jane" sent me. Now I like musicals and this one is to the tune of My Favorite Things. This was sung by Julie Andrews at an AARP gathering. It sure fits how I've been feeling lately!

Maalox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favourite things.
Cadillac's and cataracts, and hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things..
When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favourite things.
Back pains, confused brains, and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short, shrunken frames,
When we remember our favourite things.
When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Happy Trails....Ginger

Your doodles are coming right along. I haven't started mine yet but hope to when I get back. Have a great weekend and enjoy your Mother's Day with family.
