Goodbye July

July was full of family birthday celebrations and we just had the last one with a fish fry and pool party to celebrate my Dad's 71st birthday. All the grandkids gathered around to help blow out the candle!

My niece Erin got in a little babysitting time with Eva Mae.
Erin will be a senior this year and is planning on going to college to be a veterinarian. She already has a job working at a vet's office and has been getting a lot of experience.

Two of my nieces Megan and Mandy are more like sisters than cousins they are always together!

Sloan is like a fish he loves the water...he is becoming quite the swimmer.

It's all about the splash!

I've been working on quite a few projects in the evenings once the kiddo's go home. I'll have to share my secret with you soon of course there is one gal out there in blogland that already knows! I'm still grinning from ear to ear it's a dream come true :)

Making Hay While the Sun Shines

Seems like everytime we need to do a little farming we have a problem....so Dad was good to come over with his equipment and start cutting the hay for us. Hay is going to be scarce this year in our area as we haven't seen enough rain and with the temps staying so high the fields are beginning to burn up.

Sloan and his great~grandpa looking over the large garden. My mom and dad have a huge garden that has a variety of veggies.

This is where we try to stay most of the time is in the shade it's just too hot out in the sunshine.

He tells me often he wants to stay little because it's so much fun. Ahhhh to be carefree again :)

An empty nest we found.

Gathering up feathers.

Time to get the feet wet!

Keeping the feeders full is becoming a daily task. We have about 15 hummers that have come for a stay.

Silly kids and worms!

The 3 M's....Maggie, Megan, and Mandy....enjoying a swim!

*SIZZLING SUMMER DAYS*

It's been a HOT and MISERABLE week where all you want to do is find a cool place and park yourself there with a cool glass of ice tea or better yet an ice cream cone. (I've had the ice tea and been really tempted to buy some ice cream)

It's been a busy week running family to doctor's appointments, chasing one busy 2 year old, trying to keep up with the housework :( mowing the lawn twice because it rained so much the week before, and of course then there is work...the actual setting at the boring desk job so what's a gal to do???? Well dust off the punchneedle and grab some floss and get busy doing something under the cool air~conditioner.

Inspired by the volunteer sunflowers that popped up in the fence row and the bright skies of summer these lil' sunflowers are coming to life.

Hope you are finding a cool spot to rest on what seems to be one very long HOT summer.

Sneezy, Itchy, Watery Eyes!

Now I know why I enjoy fall so much. It's allergy season again!

It was another busy weekend again. It always seems like when summer rolls around that with more daylight hours we find more that needs to be done.

We had a busy day Saturday at church as everyone that could came and painted fences, went through a few things, repainted a Sunday School classroom and did a lot of organizing.

This afternoon I mowed the lawn and finished up planting a few more flowers and bushes. Just as I was finishing and the sun was sinking low the phone rings and low and behold it's Danny needing help. Good thing for cell phones or he would have been walking.

He was trying to put some more dirt on the dam of the back pond and just about slid in. With the recent rains we have had the pond is full and the dam needed some reinforcing. With a little help from yours truly we had him back on solid ground in no time.

I've been doing some painting outside just giving the lawn furniture a touch of paint and thought it would be nice to have a little birdbath. It was super simple and if you have a clay pot and saucer you can make one, too.

All you need is a
Clay pot
Clay saucer
Acrylic paint
foam brush
glue (I used gorilla glue)
clear spray

Paint your pot and saucer ( I left the portion I was going to glue together unpainted). Glue the saucer on top of upside down clay pot. Place a heavy object on top for a couple of hours while glue dries. Spray with clear spray let dry.

Now I have a simple little birdbath that all the lil' birds can enjoy!

I found a moment and updated my LPS shop seems like the 1st and the 15th comes around so fast.
