Along the highways and byways and little country roads you will find little churches many of them very old. Old wooden pews and simple furnishings often are still used inside. Some have fragile stained glass and some just simple panes. Inside you will find that some use the old hymn books and the wood floors creak beneath your feet. The old songs are my favorites they are filled with so much truth.
I punched this little prairie community with the focus of the "Little Country Church" and thought of the many times as a child my sisters and I would ride to church with my mom and grandma to many a church meeting :)
I can even recall little snippets of conversations in the car as Grandma would sing along with the radio as old time hymns would play as we would cross the one lane wood bridge as we would go to church.
I am one of the lucky ones in life that had someone care enough to see that a foundation was laid in my heart. Quite a few years ago I made a choice to make a reservation.....Over the last few months I have thought about that reservation. It is the most important reservation of my life. It is my eternal reservation and I often go to bed at night and dream in my humble dreams of what it will be like! I know it will be far grander than I can imagine and oh how joyous it will be to visit with those I have read about, the family that has went on before me but most of all seeing and talking with the Lord Jesus Christ who gave his life for me.
My hope is you have made your reservation, too!
Happy Trails....Ginger

I would absolutely love to see you make a pattern of this! Looks almost exactly like the church I grew up in and hold so dear to my heart. My favorite memories are of my mamaw holding my hand during church. I don't care if I was 30 years old, I still loved to feel her reach over and hold my hand. My earliest and favorite memories are playing under her quilt frames that were hanging from the ceiling or on saw horses. I miss her but know I will see her again in a far better place!
Inspirational post Ginger. I like this punched piece!
It sounds like you have found peace in your life. Good for you. We all need to believe.
Love your punched scene and wonder if you will be offering it as a paper pattern for hooking?
Beautiful reservation, beautiful words from a beautiful Lady, and a beautiful work of needle punch art. <3
Amen.... indeed the most important decision anyone can ever make.
Beautiful work...and a true Blessing to have such a wonderful thing instilled within your heart from a young age and to guide and comfort thee throughout life ...Hugs lil raggedy Angie
Wonderful piece and I love churches and village designs. I always take photos of churches and buildings when we go up north, someday I need to turn them into designs.

Thanks so much for sharing your testimony. I'd never heard it talked about as a "reservation", but I love it! I'm thankful I have my reservation! I have similar memories... maybe it's an Oklahoma thing. I was born in Okarche and lived in ElReno until I was about six. I love your blogs and your creations!
