Trying something new this year with knitting....you see so many wonderful projects and while I have crocheted since the early age of ten due to some very patient grandma's. This business of knitting is a bit of a learning curve but I'm getting the hang of it....slowly! Two scarves finished and on to this cowl....and the yarn is absolutely wonderful.
If anyone knows of an absolute BEGINNER book for knitters that is easy to understand I am open for suggestions as there are so many to choose from and I haven't a clue! Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would love to know of a great beginner book also ! My daughter would like to learn.
Knitting is gorgeous, but alas, there just is not enough time in the day to follow all the rabbit trails ;)

I am a fairly accomplished knitter.
When I was beginning I bought a book called "Stitch N Bitch". It became my bible. Their explanation of stitches, construction, etc. is done in clear terms, and there is lots of humor to keep you entertained!

Hey Ginger...try YouTube. They have some really good videos to watch...also...Ravelry.com is a great resource. You have to create an account, but it's totally free and tons of great patterns and instructional videos. Good luck! I've been crocheting up a storm...will post pictures later today! Have fun!
