The wind is HOWLING across the Oklahoma Plains and thank goodness we don't have snow or it would be a blizzard outside. So just in time for all those cold hands how about some pocket warmers. They were super easy to make and I found the directions here.
Wouldn't they feel good at a ballgame or when your spending time outside on a cold wintery day! Great for kids waiting on the bus, too.
Walking around the yard today this was waving bravely in the wind...one last hoorah before the freeze comes in tonight!

Thanks for sharing! I love this idea ~ and with a great flannel print~ perfection! Thanks so much for sharing. I'm thinking I need a pair for my pockets while waiting for the train in the frigid Chicago winter. Then I can heat them up @ work for the trek home...

Those hand warmers look really cool and fast to make. Great for our show next week. Stay warm!!!!
I make and use these all the time but I never thought of using them for handwarmers while outdoors.
I make small ones to keep in the freezer (for ice-packs when the kids get hurt) and larger ones to wrap around our necks. You can also make flat ones (with ridges sewn in them) that work great when laying down if your back hurts.
I buy field corn at the co-op and use it instead of the rice. When you microwave it kinda smells like popcorn but it holds the heat well.

I do enjoy reading your blog posts. I just have issues sometimes getting my comments to post so give up much of the time. We will all be needing some hand warmers before long and these are really neat.
