House Blessings

One of my all~time favorite rugs that I've hooked and now I just need to bind it. This one I'll keep. It's called "House Blessings" and is by L.J. Fibers It was done in a #8 cut which seems small after doing so much in a 8.5 cut but it worked up so nicely and the colors she chose are just beautiful. I can't wait to see what she comes up with for 2011. You'll notice I put 2011 in my heart since I just finished it. I debated maybe I should put something else there but I just couldn't decide so 2011 it is. This rug before being bound measures 22 x 38 inches.

Well to change things up a little I drew a little bird on a piece of freezer paper and cut out the same bird in many different wools. Then took a piece of a vintage army blanket and with some threads, buttons, and a little piece of tatting and I stitched up these little pillows.

Warmer days have arrived once again and most of the snow is fading away putting some much needed moisture into the soil. This week will be a busy one as most are but I'm hoping to find some time here and there to finish up a couple of projects I've been working on. Hope each of you enjoyed your weekend and enjoyed some sunny days!

Happy Trails....Ginger

As always you have such beautiful work. That rug turned out so lovely. I have been experimenting with different widths of wools too. I think I like the smaller widths.

The rug is beautiful, I would keep it too.
I love your little bird pillows and made me think of an idea. Making eggs and have lots of bird and flower patterns, so would be fun to do some wool applique like that on eggs.

the rug is beautiful...makes me wish I had signed up to do it but would probably have to put 2013 as the finish year ;-) ~ not near as fast a hooker as you. Your folks looks so happy now after 49 years and do look young in that picture with the baby (is that baby Ginger?)
