A Zoorific Christmas Parade!

First I would like to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes for my dad. He still is in the hospital for now but the surgery went well he just needs some time to regain his strength before coming home. Mom has stayed every night but we do get her to come for a couple of hours each day.

Our daughter Jenn works for one of the local banks and for the past couple of years she has put together the major portion of the bank float. Making the costumes setting up into the wee hours of the morning getting each one done. This year the theme chosen by the Purcell Chamber of Commerce was "A WILD CHRISTMAS"....
She came up with a zoo setting for the bank's float and had penguins, monkeys, elephants, a peacock, kangaroo, giraffe and a lion.

In this picture my niece Mandy Jo is the kangaroo, Megan is next as a penguin and the larger penguin is our daughter Jenn. I keep telling her she should have been an actress. She loves to dress up and do crazy things.

There were old cars...

Vintage tractors....

Horses

Mini cars....

Santa Claus came to town riding on top of a fire truck.

Several bands played Christmas music.

Even our good friends Jeff and Pati came and brought their sweet lil' granddaughter Emma!

Well it was a nice evening...a great start to the Christmas season. It's a wonderful time of the year. A time to be thankful for all of our blessings and remember the true meaning of Christmas!

Happy Trails....Ginger

What a fun parade. In our town, santa comes in a boat and the reindeer are kayakers, lol. I really wanted to go and get photos, but laid up this weekend.
