Primitive HAND hooked Turkey!

Remember those days from grade school when you would trace around your hand and then pull out the crayon box and make it into a turkey to take home for Mom to put it on the refrigerator for the Holiday season. Well I've been drawing around Sloan's little hands and showing him how to make turkeys and yesterday while he was napping I thought it might be fun to draw up a silly little hand turkey and hook up a little mat and that's just what I did. I finished the binding this evening and I hope to offer him on eBay in a couple of weeks.

My Mom bought Sloan this great lil' stick horse and gave it to him today. He loves it! He keeps telling me he's a cowboy and that he needed a horse so his great~grandma really came through. You push on it's ear and it whinny's and makes a galloping sound. He keeps saying Giddy Up....I'm a cowboy! When Papa got home he made a dash for the door and was out running across the yard riding his horse....I was hollaring "Whoa Cowboy"....that lil' horse and cowpoke sure do travel fast!

Happy Trails....Ginger

Ginger, I just love your hand turkey mat. It turned out great. I just might have to try that. Sloan looks like the perfect cowboy with his horse and overalls. Memories in the making.

Sloan is too adorable. Love how he is enjoying the simplest of toys. Really sparks the imagination!

How on earth did you hook that mat while the little cowpoke was sleeping? I must be the world's slowest hooker!
Sloan sure is a cutie ;-)

Love this, did the same for my 3 girls last year and gave it to Grandparents. Made a copy for myself that I've yet to hook! What a treasure you've made.
