~Lenexa Rughooking ~
Time Spent With Friends
I had an absolutely delightful weekend....I'm still overflowing with the most wonderful feeling. I had the opportunity to go to Lenexa, Kansas to my very first rug-hook in. Snow of course had to make an appearance and for those traveling it was slow going! We arrived Friday night and was so grateful that the show was only a mile or so away.
The hook-in and show was awesome! To walk in and see so much wool, patterns and supplies right there at my fingertips I was simply amazed. Now if you do rughooking or wool applique you know just what I mean!
The rug show was unbelievable. What an amazing amount of talent from the smallest of hooked mats to the very large room size rugs. They ranged in the small little cuts of fine hooking to the larger primitive style. It was just a sight to see.
PATI & SANDRA
Two of my friends from Oklahoma, "Pati and Sandra", made the trip with me and we laughed and made so many new memories. It is so much fun to share time with friends that enjoy what you do. We ate at some great restaurants and visited quilting and antique shops along the way. We were pretty much snuggled in on the way home with all the wool and little treasures we purchased along the way.
Even better than seeing the hooked rugs was the highlight of meeting Betty of Primitivebetty's and her sil Robin. Two of the sweetest gals you will ever meet. They are just so much fun to visit with that I dreaded seeing the day come to an end.
BETTY & ME
I'll be looking forward to many more trips to Kansas in the future it was the grandest of times!
Happy Trails....Ginger

Wow Ginger - Sounds like you had a wonderful time! Will you be posting more pictures of the rugs you saw at the hook-in? Hope so!
It was wonderful to finally meet you in person Ginger! Pati & Sandra are darling too. What a fun trip for the three of you to take together. :) Now.. you are all planning on coming next year too - right? Lets hope for no snow next time... and that we are all healthy then too. ;) I'm sure if I wouldn't have been loosing my voice that your friends would be asking why I talk so much!! LOL
