Squish Is That Water?

Yes it was and what started out as a leaky hot water tank turned into pulling up the flooring. What a mess and just look at these ugly floors!

Now to clean out my entire craft room I think I may need to rent a crew! It's like a super center in there. The flooring has to come up in there and the spare bedroom. I have used muscles I didn't know existed but I do now! Next time we are laying tile throughout the entire house this will be our third flooring job.

Thank goodness nothing else was ruined. So a word of advice check your hot water heaters occasionally....our's lasted 8 years and that was with a water softner.

Happy Trails....Ginger

Ugh, that is no fun. We had a pipe burst, the main one into the house, luckily I caught it before it flooded out the basement. I still need to get down there and pull everything out and start trashing, too much mold from the dampness, so we need to redo our basement and clear out the clutter.

Yikes Ginger - what a mess - I wish I could come help you! I know what a mess it is as I worked on a construction site where pipes burst in buildings that were already occupies - Awful!

Ohhhh.... I'm so sorry to hear your water tank troubles... and of all your work. I'm sure your home will be back to loving goodness soon, but I'm still sorry you have to deal with it.

You poor girl, ours did it on December 23rd, I was getting ready to do my Christmas baking and the water heater did the same thing. It was a mess and I have tile.
It was cold and yucky but I happened to be standing right there and caught it as water was flowing out the laundry room door.
Ours was only 8 years old too. I wonder if they have some kind of a time clock on them. :)
Don't work too hard Ginger, I hope it isn't hot. :)

Sorry to hear about that mess...you had said you wanted to re-do that flooring someday, but doubt this was 'the day' or the reason to do it. Try not to over do those muscles. Hope you can get everything done before long...and by the way, the concrete floor doesn't look so bad in the pictures.

Sorry to hear about your troubles! BUT, ripping up the floor is better than having nasty black mold grow underneath it! You'll be back in ship shape in no time!

Oh Ginger, my heart feels for you. Had one go in NJ when we were in the process of selling our house. thankfully it was in the basement where there wasn't much stuff. Not a finished basement. But what a mess it was! I was left to clean it all up since my husband had already started his new job in MD and was on his way back there. Hope this is the last one you'll ever have to replace!

I'm sorry to hear it Ginger. And the floor doesn't look terrible, considering it's not meant for display. And look at the bright side, at least you didn't tear up the flooring to find that you had termites or dry rot!!! Hope you get the new tile down easily, and you don't get too sore from it!!
