Turtles, Bugs, and Rugs!

We have been busy every evening trying to finish up many of the projects we have started around the farm. I don't think we will ever truly been done. We did get the flag pole up and it looks great with the flags flying high!

This morning Sloan and I saw this fella coming at a fast pace and made his way right up onto the porch. Guess he was coming to see what was happening up at the house. We sent him on his way back to the pond. We sure don't need a snapping turtle to play with :) and he sure was a friendly sort of guy he came right up to Sloan and wanted to check the lil' fella out!

We did have a great afternoon....we went into town to the kiddie pool that has been around since I was a kid and I took Sloan for a swim. We had a great time cooling off. We came home and decided we needed to go on a bug hunt. We found several bugs to put in his bug house.

Here is a few more rugs from the rug camp in Tyler, Texas. I just brought my little camera so the pics aren't the best.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of the great rugs that were there. Well it's suppose to be hot and humid the rest of the week and I'm sure we will find a few ways to cool off. Hope all of you are staying cool in this heat and staying safe with all the storms that continue to make their way across the states.

Happy Trails....Ginger

Sloan is such a cutie!! Sounds like you have been busy ~ glad you could cool off for awhile & take a break! I can't believe that snapping turtle was so friendly!! My dad had one bite him as a kid & they had to cut it's head of to get it off his belly! lol I'm not sure I would've wanted to even mess with one on my porch!
Try to stay cool & safe ~ have a great week!

Those flags look wonderful flying way up in the air! Sloan looks like he's growing so tall! The rugs are gorgeous... I think my favorite is the Small Farms one... thanks for sharing!

Ginger, thanks so much for sharing! Lots to see and study. Love seeing what colors and how others go about doing their rugs.
Fun times with Sloan and God Bless ya for helping the little fella out with bugs. Guess my kids were deprived. I would never do that LOL.

Just amazing rugs. So glad you got pictures of those. Are you going to be getting rain with the turtle on the move?
It all looks so nice. It has been to cold to even think about going swimming.

Your flag pole is awesome, Ginger! That was a lot of work to get one that size up, but it looks fabulous with the flag proudly waving!

Look at that turtle! I always thought they were so slow until one my sons showed me a video of a snapping turtle, and those guys run fast! I was shocked. You are so brave and kind to return it to it's home. :)

Your pics of Sloan are adorable, I miss those little guys times, as mine are now 19 and 21 and the days of bug hunts are long gone, and the pics of Rug Camp OMW, amazing! So many talented folks.

Stay cool and safe.
Hugs,
Ma

Wow, Ginger, some great rugs there. I especially love the rose one. Beautiful!! Seems to me there's a lot of red there!! Glad you and Sloan had fun, and that the snapping turtle didn't snap at you!! Good luck getting all your work caught up on the farm!

Ginger, Sloan looks like he is getting so big. Good thing he didn't decide to play with the snapping turtle. We have some big ones in our lake and there is a friend of my husbands that will come and get one if you find one in your yard. He makes soup. Yuck.
Great rug show.
