Hooking Rugs Can Be Addictive!

There is more to life on the farm than feeding cows and donkeys! There is the afternoons spent fishing, gardening, laundry, and yes hooking...rug hooking that is!

I've been known through the years to have an addiction for things...now there not bad things just stuff like tennis! Yes, played for years 3 to 4 days a week, quilting....lets just say I have enough quilt tops for the entire family plus the neighbors, needle punch and rug hooking...okay so I bought out the entire stock of dmc floss when the local Wal-Mart stores was clearing it out....lets just say I have tubs of floss and leave it at that!

Then let's just say a gal can never have enough wool or can she....

Maria of Star Rug Company sent me this wonderful pattern and it worked up in just a couple of evenings....Harvest Angel will make a perfect gift for someone on my list!

Still trying to use up the big ol' basket of scraps I made this scrappy heart and key rug....I don't think I even made a dent in the big ol' basket of wooly worms.

This lil' red house came out of the scrap basket, too....I've been making myself bind rugs. I must admit though I get several ready before I grab the needle and thread.

Well I'm off to find my hook or needle!

Happy Trails...Ginger

Hi Ginger,
So do you sleep???? LoL ♥
I received my rug hook pattern and I hope all the stips I need to make it ... I have purchased a gripper frame but it is not here yet ... So I hope to be hooking soon ... rug hooking that is!
I hope to have a basket of my own wooly worms one day ... and be able to hook like you.
Your work is beautiful! thanks for sharing .... ♥
Oh, BTW I love the donk ... we had one once, Paco .. but he kept chasing me all over the pasture ...it was fun at first ...but then I got older or he got faster ...not sure which.
However I do miss him a little the way he would cock his head to the side and just start gallopping around the pasture like he was all that.
Have a great week.

I do love your rugs. I just signed up for a class starting next month and I can't wait to start. I have a funny feeling I'm in deep trouble! LOL

Yep,
I am right there with you, quilted 2o years or so, I have plenty of cotton, threads, etc. Our local drug store and WalMart both went out so I bought all the DMC floss I could. Then I began a rug hooker in Oct 2005, now I have plenty of wool, my basement is rather full. I have been selling some of my quilting books and giving away the rest. Oh to be an addict. Sheila

I don't think you could ever have enough fabric, wool or floss! :) I just purchased some Rit dye and will try overdying some floss for punch needle. But first, I need to get more floss!
