Have You Seen Any Giraffe's Lately?

We had a great time at the OKC Zoo today....there were lots of new exhibits. They had a place dedicated just to the wildlife of Oklahoma.

Sloan loved seeing all the animals and the hippo's swimming were one of his favorites.

Uncle JJ and Sloan found lots of different birds to look at.

When you get tired all you have to do is find you a resting rock!

He loved seeing the bears too!

There's nothing like sharing a snowcone with PaPa.

Aunt Jenn was busy taking lots of pictures but her and Sloan took a moment to visit the Apes.

Alligators were dozing in the warm afternoon sunshine.

A new grizzly bear exhibit had lots of waterfalls and huge wading areas.

Most of the day this little one was content with walking and looking at everything.

We finally got him in the stroller and then he wanted his socks and shoes off. Yes, it's confirmed....stinky feet!

He was sure tuckered out after we stopped for supper. You may be wondering why his Mom and Dad weren't in any of the pictures. They were attending a wedding today so I'm sure they will be anxious to see all the pictures and here about all the animals.

If you haven't visited your local zoo in awhile you should soon. It makes for some good exercise and you'll see some wonderful animals.

Jack O'Lantern Moon

I finished up another small rug last night. It was a pattern I purchased at the Lenexa Hook-In from the Needl' Love booth. It is called Jack O'Lantern Moon and it was sure fun and fast to hook. I do enjoy making something whether it be a hooked rug, a quilt, or baking some little goodies.

I'm working on a little giveaway I hope to have up next week all I'll say for now is it has to do with rug hooking.

This weekend is sure to be lots of fun. We are hoping to take our lil' grandson to the zoo before the Oklahoma heat comes to stay. Today has been a cool, cloudy, and rainy day.

Wishing each of you a weekend filled with family and friends.

~*Full Of Energy*~

This boy loves watermelon and he's even been known to haul a slice around in his dump truck in the yard. Yes he's all boy!

A bit of watching some tv while Grandma or as he calls me "MoMo" gets some housework done! Yes, he's learning quickly how to become a lil' man!

We had to run a few errands and he always loves to go!

After we finished up the errands we went to the mall not for shopping but for a little fun. I wound up being dizzy trying to keep him setting down but he had a great time.

Look at the lil' girl in the other car she wasn't so sure but Sloan was on his 3rd dollar and he just wanted more!

Back at home and a quick nap for Sloan it was outside to read books, riding on the tricycle, and playing with the ball.

Oh and can you believe this lil' one can fly a kite!

When his Dad picked him up this evening he left full of energy ready to go have fun with his Mom and Dad!

They only stay little for a short while so get out and play with those kiddo's!

A Truly Inspiring Story

I just love this story of a young lady from Britian 47 years old with a voice of an angel. I hope you click on the link and watch Susan Boyle. It just goes to show you never judge a person by what they look like. It's what's inside that counts.

Easter ~ Rains ~ Family ~ Fun

Easter today brought with it a much needed rain! Showers of blessings for sure. We enjoyed family and friends with a cook-out brought indoors. My daughter's sister-in-law Jennipher enjoyed some time with our lil' great niece Chloe.

Danny's Mom came for lunch and brought a wonderful mixed bowl of fruit.

Chloe got a head start on the indoor egg hunt!

Two of the kiddo's counting up their loot!

The taste testing cooking crew!

The kids always have alot to discuss when they get together.

Having 3 sisters it just makes for 3 crazy brother-in-laws!
Dennis is a history teacher and High School football and track coach.

Brian is one of those guys you don't want to see in your rear view mirror especially with the lights flashing!

Steven is the manager of a Sherwin-Williams Paint store.

Our daughter "Jenn" one wild and crazy gal!

Hope each of you enjoyed your Easter day as much as I did!

On the cross He died for sinners
And His blood makes white as snow;
Loving, living, coming Saviour,
He's the one you ought to know.

Oklahoma Wildfires

Oklahoman's faced wildfires yesterday over a major portion of the state. Over one hundred homes have been lost. The high winds fueled the fires as firefighters tried their best to gain some sort of control.

Two of my sisters had been to a track meet to see their kids and as they made their way home smoke and flames were making it a difficult trip back.

Having family members as well as friends as firefighters it just adds to the worry as the smoke was intense over a major portion of the state.

The winds are still blowing across the plains of Oklahoma today and rain is in the forecast for the weekend. Many folks will be faced with a loss of everything so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

~* Oh What a Beautiful Day *~

We enjoyed a beautiful spring day with very light winds HOORAY!!!
Of course the biggest part was spent outside. Sloan and I went and visited his Great-Grandpa Bob and Grandma Sue. They have one of those utility carts to get around on the farm and Sloan loves to ride on there. We visited the garden and the big pond and saw some ducks. He really didn't want to leave but it would be time for a nap soon.

PaPa came home from work and with Sloan helping they got the steers fed. He does love being with PaPa.

Ol' Big Ears loves seeing PaPa too because that means extra goodies to eat!

Learning how to blow dandelions and chasing butterflies!

Can you see the turkeys out in the field? They have been staying around the last few weeks....maybe it's the apple peelings Sloan makes sure he throws out for them.

There's nothing better than sharing the day with the one's you love!

~*Spring Tulip*~

The winds have been whipping across the fields so harshly the last few days and the temperatures have once again dropped to freezing. No spring tulips as of yet have popped up and we are so ready for spring days to come and stay. So with no tulips to enjoy I decided why not draw up one and make one to enjoy for now!

This week is sure to be filled with getting ready for Easter Sunday. Lots of memories come with Easter. When our kids were little times were hard and my Grandma always made sure lil' Dan had a new shirt and slacks and Jenn had a pretty new dress with a hat. I'll never forget those days and how she made it a little easier with just a simple gesture that meant so much.

Be sure to take a moment every now and again to remember those simple little things of life it's good for the soul. Treasure the moments!

A Trip to Canton, Texas
Trade Days

Need a Alpaca, pot~bellied pig, dog, goat, chickens, bunnies, lama's, horses or sugar glider bat well this place has them. Danny and I took a little trip across the state lines to go to Canton, Texas. First Monday Trade Days is a shopping adventure as big as Texas and it's located about an hour's drive East of Dallas.

I am not a shopper....let me repeat I am not a shopper but if you are this is the place to go. I have never seen so much stuff in one place in all my life. This place has been going strong since 1850. Yes since the 1800's people have been trading and selling their wares at this location.

We walked for 8 hours and still did not see all of it. Campers and RV's were crammed in side by side with folks selling everything you can imagine. There were so many buildings jammed full of merchandise you couldn't even see it all.

Antiques, art, collectibles, clothes, food, gifts, jewelry, purses, tools, cowhides, furniture, quilts, wind chimes, bird houses, signs, metal art, candles at every twist and turn.

If you go you better make a plan to meet up somewhere because cell phones don't get reception. Be sure to bring a cart or wagon to haul your goodies in or rent one there.

Food vendors were everywhere...roasted corn, turkey legs, lemonade, funnel cakes, kettle corn and so much more.

The day started out with a cool breeze but by the afternoon it was up to 80 degrees. I'm not sure I would want to be there come June, July, or August!

There was well over 7,000 vendors and then if that wasn't enough you could walk across the street to and there were even more. To say the least it was quite overwhelming!

Who Knew Rug Hooking Would Be So Fun!

Don't you just love this cat and bird! I hooked it up in no time! It's a doodle by Betty and when I saw it on her blog I knew I just had to give it a try. It would even look great as a stitchery or needle punch! Thank you Betty for some awesome doodles!

So Thursday has arrived and with that said most Thursday's and Friday's I am at work. Sloan is off visiting with his other grandparents and I'm sure they are enjoying every minute.

Well I looked up from my desk and what did I see outside...a HOUSE! Now I can honestly say it's the first house to pull in here. Mostly it's just farmers, oilfield workers or someone needing a truck bed or a trailer to pull equipment on. Seems like someone needed a little repair work done before pulling this house to it's new destination.

Our first home we lived in was smaller than this one but for just two youngsters starting out it was a place to call home. I often think back to that little tiny green house with just 4 rooms...made housework fast and easy!

Looks like today is going to be filled with some stormy weather and we can sure use the rain so no complaing here.

No Foolin'.....

I finished up another rug last evening. It was a design tweaked by Gene Shepherd by permission of Mustard Seed Primitives. I just need to get to binding this one and then it will be ready to be used somewhere in the house. It measures 18 x 24 inches and I'm thinking it might just go in the guest bedroom.

I've actually made up my mind to get after the binding on several rugs so tomorrow I'm heading to work with a rug and supplies to finish up one completely. It's a good thing the BOSS likes me! Not many employers let you work on hookin' and punchin' at work....

Vicki over at Hogscald Hollar
has gave me this award. How very thoughtful of her. If you get a chance stop on over and visit her blog she does rug hooking, spinning, felting, and so much more.

There are so many wonderful blogs I love to visit that I don't want to limit it to just a few. So consider yourselves all given this award.

Well April 1st is coming to a close and I haven't played any pranks today but then again I still have a few hours left!
