*HaPPy NeW YeaR*

Wishing all of you a Happy New Year!

May you each find happiness with each new day, good health, and a desire to love and be loved. May you be quick to forgive and quick to ask for forgiveness. May you take time to hold a hand of someone dear and listen with an open ear. May your troubles and sorrows be few and may each of your days end with a smile and a prayer of thanks.

I have a few journals scattered throughout my home with no daily writings just tidbits of things I want my children to read one day, random thoughts, ponderings of what has been on my heart at different times in my life.

As I close the final chapter on 2010 I feel as though I've reached for a book with clean white pages and it's waiting to be filled with what the next 365 days will hold. I know not what will be written it's a mystery what all the tomorrows will bring and so let the new chapter begin with as my dear lil' Sloan would say.....Once Upon A Time!

Sisters ....My Forever Friends!

I truly hope each of you enjoyed a Happy Christmas. I'm still watching Christmas movies they are my favorite shows. I managed to get most of the decorations boxed up and just need to get them back in the attic. Just need a lil' help from Danny!

I've pulled the last loops on this scrappy rug now just need to get it steamed and BOUND. Looks like one more scrappy rug will be made since I still have a basket full of worms.

I must say I'm so blessed to have 3 sisters that live close. We enjoy almost every holiday together along with our families.

It's almost time to ring out the old year and ring in the new! Did I accomplish much in 2010....I sure did! Something that both Danny and I did was read our Bible completely through. I must say it was quite hard but I did learn a lot and realize I have a LOT more to learn.

I'm not sure what 2011 will hold but I'm going to try and CHERISH each day, tell those around me I LOVE them, try to have more PATIENCE, PRAY more often, and ENJOY my friends and family, and COUNT MY BLESSINGS large and small.

Hark The Hearld Angels Sing!

From all of us to all of you....Wishing you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
It's time to gather near friends and family, a time to give thanks for all of the blessings we have received and we as a family have been truly blessed.

And even though we miss the ones that are gone we still can look back on the memories that we hold so dear. The love and joy that has touched our lives.

The gift sent from above so long ago for you and for me. A little baby born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. We do have so much to be thankful for this Christmas.

Hark! the Herald Angels sing,
Glory to the new-born King.

Joyful all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies,
With the angelic host proclaim,
Christ is born in Bethlehem.

May you always seek him!

Tis The Season!

It's Christmas week and I've almost finished wrapping all the presents. The groceries have been bought before the stores become CRAZY!!!!

We enjoyed seeing the lights out at the lake.

I've been trying to use up the big basket of scrap worms. Scrappy rugs are actually my favorite. Reminds me of my grandma's quilts, afghans, and rugs they use to make.

I'm also binding a few rugs.

Another scrappy rug on the frame.

Tomorrow is my niece Megan's 9th birthday so for lunch the family will be gathering here for a party. I've got lots of games and crafts planned and will be having pizza and of course birthday cake. School is out for Christmas break so let the fun begin....Tis the Season to be Jolly!

Christmas Parties!

Sloan enjoys going to a lil' preschool twice a week for a few hours. He will be having a party tomorrow and today we made these lil' snowman sacks to take with a few goodies inside.

He took a few breaks and played with the snowmen and super heroes.

Asleep in PaPa's chair.

Tuesday's Christmas party at Country Collections.....Food, Rug Hooking, Gift exchanges, and lots of fun!

Chocolate Delight~ A dessert my daughter Jenn made a few days ago and we enjoyed it and it's super easy to make.

Layer in a bowl bite sized brownies, chocolate pudding, cool whip, and then on top add chocolate chips, toffee bits, and I added in a few pecan pieces. Enjoy!

It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas

I've been back to working on a few small mats and hope to have this one finished before Christmas!

The tree is finally up and a favorite Snowman was brought down from the attic and Sloan has enjoyed this guy since his first Christmas. This year Sloan has really taken to the Christmas shows like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas.

We had a mean ole intruder....a stinky ole skunk. Seems like the stinker decided to get in the pen and wouldn't you know it not one chick left! We are going to have to rework the pen so that doesn't happen anymore. I think I'll miss them more than anyone! I haven't had the heart to break the news to Sloan. I may just get a few pretty soon and replace them so he doesn't have to know!

Well the shopping and wrapping is almost done and I hope to finish that up this weekend. Then it will be time to make candies and other sweet treats and of course I still need to finish putting up the rest of the decorations. Oh where are those elves when you need them :)

A Zoorific Christmas Parade!

First I would like to thank everyone for the prayers and well wishes for my dad. He still is in the hospital for now but the surgery went well he just needs some time to regain his strength before coming home. Mom has stayed every night but we do get her to come for a couple of hours each day.

Our daughter Jenn works for one of the local banks and for the past couple of years she has put together the major portion of the bank float. Making the costumes setting up into the wee hours of the morning getting each one done. This year the theme chosen by the Purcell Chamber of Commerce was "A WILD CHRISTMAS"....
She came up with a zoo setting for the bank's float and had penguins, monkeys, elephants, a peacock, kangaroo, giraffe and a lion.

In this picture my niece Mandy Jo is the kangaroo, Megan is next as a penguin and the larger penguin is our daughter Jenn. I keep telling her she should have been an actress. She loves to dress up and do crazy things.

There were old cars...

Vintage tractors....

Horses

Mini cars....

Santa Claus came to town riding on top of a fire truck.

Several bands played Christmas music.

Even our good friends Jeff and Pati came and brought their sweet lil' granddaughter Emma!

Well it was a nice evening...a great start to the Christmas season. It's a wonderful time of the year. A time to be thankful for all of our blessings and remember the true meaning of Christmas!
